Shakshuka Indian Style is a flavorful twist on the classic Middle Eastern dish, featuring poached eggs in a spiced tomato sauce infused with Indian flavors.
Ingredients
- 4 eggs or how many ever you want to eat
- 3 big onions or shallots
- 3 large tomatoes
- 1 red bell pepper
- A few pods of garlic
- Cilantro
- Garam masala
- Coriander powder
- Cumin powder
- Black pepper or white pepper
- Salt to taste
Directions
- Finely chop the tomatoes, onions, bell peppers and garlic
- Put some olive oil in a pan. Once hot sauté the garlic. Add the onions and sauté them too. Once the onions are translucent add the tomatoes and the bell peppers.
- Sauté the ingredients till they become like a chunky paste.
- You can finely chop the cilantro and the basil and add that too.
- Add a few pinches of the garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt and pepper. You can also swap out the indian spices to other spices like oregano.
- Give the paste a big mix
- Spread and flatten out the entire mix in the pan.
- Make circular pockets in the paste.
- Crack open the eggs in those pockets.
- Let the eggs be cooked to your desired consistency.
